🚗 Sweden may change the driving license rules

Right now, your theory test is only valid for 4 months for a B license. If you can’t book a driving test in time, you may have to do the theory test again.

Now Transportstyrelsen wants to extend it to 1 year, to reduce stress and make it work like other license types.

📆 If approved, it could start as early as August.

🇸🇪 Record applications for Sweden’s new return grant

In just one month, 272 people applied for the newly increased “återvandringsbidraget”. It is more than in all of 2025.
💰 350,000 SEK per adult👶 25,000 SEK per child

But so far not a single application has been approved ❌

Most rejections were due to:✅ Wrong residence status✅ Debts with Kronofogden or CSN

The reform only started on January 1, 2026. The government says it’s too early to draw conclusions.

🚨 Members of Sweden’s Migration Agency ethical council are criticizing the country’s stricter migration laws.

They say too many changes have been introduced too quickly and that families are paying the price.

One member has resigned in protest. Others say they’ve warned about this for years.

👶 The debate intensified after an eight-month-old child now faces deportation due to rule changes.

Politicians say they are listening but the council says responsibility must follow.

POV: you try to film a full day vlog… but you only remember to record the “random highlights” 😅⏰

So here’s my very realistic mini timeline from today, with gaps big enough to fit a whole IKEA warehouse.

🩺 I went with my dad to a doctor’s appointment, just in case the tolk didn’t show up.

Quick Sweden 101: a tolk is an interpreter provided for healthcare appointments (and other official situations) when you need language support. Sometimes they’re in the room, but often they join by phone or video.

And yes, today the tolk actually called in. Sweden delivered ✅😂

💅 Nails appointment, but make it extra safe: I brought my bodyguard… aka my corgi Roco.He didn’t do much guarding. Mostly judging pedestrians.

Anyway… enjoy the chaotic timestamps and the missing chapters of my life.

Have you ever had a “tolk” appointment in Sweden? And did it go smoothly? 👀

Glad Fettisdag! 😅🇸🇪🍰

If you’re new here: Fettisdag (Fat Tuesday) is the day Sweden collectively decides it’s totally normal to eat a semla for “tradition” (and then maybe… another one).

A semla = a soft cardamom bun filled with almond paste and whipped cream. It looks innocent. It’s not.

What usually happens:
✅ cafés sell out early
✅ coworkers argue about which semla is “the best” like it’s a personality trait
✅ some people eat it the classic way, some put it in warm milk (it’s called hetvägg)
✅ and everyone pretends it’s cultural research 🫶

So if you see your Swedish friend holding a semla like it’s a newborn… just back away slowly and let them have their moment.

Are you team classic semla or team hetvägg? 👀

My long awaited package finally arrived 🤓📦

*ad*

After TWO years of wearing the same frames… and after I changed my hair colour… I decided it’s time for “glasses on rotation”. Because apparently I’m the kind of person who can change hair, but keeps the same frames like it’s a marriage vow 😅

This pair is from @firmoo.se (TM45298)

What I really liked: you can try the frames on your own photo before ordering. Super helpful when you’re doing a little style reset.

They also offer prescription lenses, so I ordered this pair with my prescription to test the whole process, but I’ll mostly use them for filming and quick outings. For future online orders though, I’ll probably go for plano lenses (zero power) as a fashion accessory.

And here’s something worth knowing 👇

When it comes to prescription glasses long-term, ordering prescription glasses online can sometimes come with risks if the lenses are not perfectly centered or fitted to your exact measurements. Some things (like perfect lens alignment) are hard to properly verify at home, even if they feel fine at first.

So if I ever fall in love with a frame online and want it as my main everyday pair, a smart option is to order the frame and have the lenses fitted and checked professionally at a local optician. Best of both worlds.

👉 firmoo.se and use the code GFUI50 to get 50% off the frames

Now tell me: what do you think? 👀

⚡️ Swedes in shock over electricity prices

On Tuesday, the price reached just over 2 kr per kWh. The highest in two years.

🏠 One family near Motala: 9,832 kr
🔥 Family in Gällivare: 10,000 kr
👴 Pensioner in Stockholm area: 12,500 kr

Reasons according to experts:
❄️ Cold weather
🌬️ Almost no wind
📈 High demand

Many households say they’ve lowered the heat, bought energy efficient equipment and still see record bills.

Would you choose fixed or variable rates right now?

🇸🇪 Valentine’s Day, but make it Swedish and limited 🤩
*self-promo*

Today we celebrated by checking if our favourite semla in Gothenburg is still as good as last year.
And I promised you a little Valentine’s surprise.

I just released a limited LikeSweden candle drop:

🕯️ Vinterfika
Coffee + cinnamon. Warm, cozy, slightly pumpkin-spice energy.
Basically winter fika in a jar.

🍊 Citrusblomma
Magnolia + orange. Fresh, sweet, slightly Skittles vibes.

Both are soy candles, handmade in Gothenburg by my mum. She used to run her own candle shop in Poland. This batch? Made especially for you.

Only 10 pieces per scent.
When they’re gone, they’re gone.

🇸🇪 Shipping within Sweden only.

If you want the link, comment CANDLE and I’ll send it to you in DM.

And yes… if you buy both scents, you get a small discount on the second one 😉
