Swedish healthcare in one sentence?
Take Alvedon… + a 200kr bill 🫠

Bonus tip: wash it down with some water and you’re basically cured 😅

But here’s the story – my skin problem from last year came back. Last time it got so bad within just a few hours that I ended up at akut, and the doctors were surprised because the change looked like it had been there for at least a week, when in reality it developed in less than one day.

This time I contacted the doctor on Friday and the earliest appointment I got was for next Thursday. In the meantime, the advice is: if it hurts, just take Alvedon.

PS: I’m fine, really ✌️ And honestly – apart from this one incident, I’m grateful for Swedish healthcare. I always feel cared for and treated well here ❤️

🚨 Get pregnant within 30 days and win a shopping bonus?

That’s the new campaign from electronics chain Power.

They say it’s humor + a serious issue: Sweden’s falling birth rates.

But many call it offensive. Critics argue pregnancy isn’t a marketing game and the Swedish Women’s Organisations have now filed a complaint to the Advertising Ombudsman.

The offer runs Sep 15 – Oct 5. One month to get pregnant… for a vacuum cleaner?

Clever or tasteless – what’s your take?

🚨 Sweden bans phones in school from 2026!

The new law means no phones in class, on breaks, or even at after-school care in grundskolan. Students will have to hand in their devices at the start of the day and only get them back when school ends.

The government says it’s about focus, learning, and real social interaction, and they’re investing 95 million kronor to make it work.

Would this rule work in your country too? Or is it going too far? 👀

🚨 Lower VAT on food is coming in Sweden – but will prices really drop?

When I talked a few months ago about rising food prices, many of you said: “But lowering VAT would only boost supermarket profits.”

👉 Well – Vänsterpartiet just addressed that.

They propose:
✅ A new law on price transparency
✅ A state authority to check that prices actually go down (at least 5.4%)
✅ Fines or even business bans for food giants who cheat

Nooshi Dadgostar warns against a “Black Friday” trick: supermarkets raising prices now, then claiming they lowered them later.

So, what do you think – will this protect consumers, or is it too extreme? 🛒🇸🇪

🇵🇱 vs 🇸🇪 culture clash 🚨

In Poland there’s an actual political war… over a school subject. Health education.

From this year, kids get one hour a week about health, relationships, emotions, stress, online safety – you know, life skills. But parents can pull them out, and politicians are treating it like the end of civilization.

The funniest (or saddest?) part? When asked on live TV what’s the difference between ovulation and menstruation… some politicians couldn’t answer. Some even said, “I’ve never really thought about it.” Yet in the next sentence they talk about “protecting children from sexualization.” 🤯

Meanwhile in Sweden? Kids have had health and sex ed for decades. They learn about their bodies, emotions, consent, equality. No outrage, no scandal. Just normal. Just common sense.

👉 Should health education be everywhere? Or should parents have the final say? Curious what you think 👇
