✨ DREAMHACK 2025 STOCKHOLM ✨

First time working at an event like this as staff, not as an influencer or creator 🎧

Before that I only did much smaller events in Poland back when I was a gaming YouTuber (around 100k subs on my channel in 2011–2015).

If you passed through Stockholmsmässan last weekend, you probably saw me running around the Freeplay area or Sim Racing zone ❤️

Working at DreamHack is a totally different experience. I expected an adventure, hard work and lovely people – but it went way beyond anything I imagined. I honestly don’t have words for how grateful I am for everyone I met, trauma-bonded with and who felt like family, even though I met most of you about one hour before the event started 🥹

Let me tell you: I’ve felt pain in parts of my body I didn’t even know existed 💀 But it’s the kind of experience that’s weirdly addictive – every evening you question your life choices and wonder what you’re even doing there… and then you still wake up excited to do it all over again.

🚨 Megan Fox iced coffee ads at Coop are being removed after backlash in Sweden 🧊📸

Criminologist Nina Rung saw the lightly dressed Megan Fox ad while shopping with her 16-year-old daughter and called it sexualised, outdated and without a real slogan.

After her Instagram post, Coop replied the same evening that they will take down all the ad material and the iced coffee company now says they “should have acted differently” and will remove it as soon as possible.

What’s your take:
✅ okay marketing or
❌ time to move on from this kind of imagery in supermarkets?

🛍 Physical shops are shrinking in Sweden.

Between 2018 and 2024, small towns lost 29% of their stores, and big cities 11%, according to Svensk Handel.

Even so, most shopping still happens offline.
Physical retail stands for 86% of sales in Sweden, while e-commerce is 14%.

What do you see where you live – more empty windows or still busy streets?

❄️ Snow chaos in Sweden

Cold air has taken over almost the whole country and SMHI now has three yellow warnings out for heavy snow in Svealand, Götaland and Gästrikland.

In Örebro county, the snow came during the night without any warning in the forecast, leading to accidents, long queues and cancelled buses.
SMHI’s meteorologist says the snowfall there should have had a weather warning.

More areas, from Gothenburg to Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne and Halland, are expecting 5–15 cm of snow – for many, the first real snow of the season. And yes, winter tyres are strongly recommended.

Where in Sweden are you – and did the snow surprise you yesterday? 🌨🇸🇪

☕️ Fika isn’t “just coffee”

It’s a scheduled chill with pastries, coworkers, and zero guilt — repeated… a lot.

So when you try to match Swedish fika pace and the caffeine hits too hard?
Welcome to the Nordics, where coffee consumption is top-tier in Europe, Sweden is right up there, and everyone treats a kanelbulle like a multivitamin. You’re vibrating; they’re like: lagom. 🙂

Quick fika facts (so you don’t ascend to Mars):
✅ It’s about the break, not the buzz
✅ Filter coffee (bryggkaffe) > seven espressos
✅ Water between cups = pro move
✅ Decaf exists (no shame… or maybe?)
✅ Bun first, emails later

🚗 Swedish parking signs aren’t signs.

They’re IQ tests under traffic pressure 😂

Tiny text, five time ranges, three exceptions and a lonely little “P” that tells you absolutely nothing.

You’re driving, cars behind you, Google Maps yelling “Turn now” and Sweden is like:
“Well, it depends on Tuesdays between 9–11, except red days, unless you’re a moose.”

Honestly, how do people read that whole novel, do the parking math and still drive like calm IKEA angels?

I’m just standing there like: “If I get a ticket, I get a ticket.”

👉 Tell me: do you
a) park and pray
b) give up and drive away
c) take a photo and send it to three friends for legal advice

🎄 “Adult toys” named Christmas Gift of the Year 2025

…but not the kind you think.

Every year, Sweden picks one official Christmas present that reflects the spirit of the times. From bread machines in the 80s to unisex perfume in 2024, the list shows how we live, shop and relax.

For 2025, HUI* chose the “adult toy”.

That means toys bought by adults for themselves, not $ex toys.
✅ advanced building sets,
✅ detailed coloring books,
✅ collectibles made for grown-ups.

HUI says a growing share of toy sales now comes from adults, while fewer children are being born and the toy industry struggles.

At the same time, the “kidult” trend and things like the Barbie movie show how many people turn to nostalgia and play when the world feels uncertain.

*HUI Research - a Swedish retail research and analysis company (owned by Svensk Handel) best known for selecting “Årets julklapp”, Sweden’s official “Christmas Gift of the Year” since 1988.
