The most underrated hidden gem near Gothenburg? 👉 Götaforsliden in Mölndal.

Just 15 minutes from the city center, this old industrial district takes you straight back in time.

Once the powerhouse of Sweden’s paper and textile industry, today it’s a place where history, museums, and photography vibes come together.

✨ Here’s why you need to visit Götaforsliden:

🏛 Mölndal Museum + other local museums: free entry, and packed with exhibitions about industry, everyday life, and Swedish culture.

🌊 The historic Götafors factory building: beautiful red-brick walls and cobblestone alleys that feel like a movie set.

📸 One of the most Instagrammable spots near Gothenburg: perfect for moody, atmospheric photos in every season.

🌿 A chance to explore Swedish history in a way that feels real, authentic, and hands-on.

You’ll hear the sound of the river, walk between historic walls, and discover stories that shaped both Mölndal and Göteborg.

If you’re planning your Gothenburg itinerary, don’t just stick to Liseberg, Haga, or Slottsskogen. Add Mölndal to your list and give yourself a day to explore. Trust me - this is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve unlocked a true Swedish secret.

💸 1,000 kr for a train to Gothenburg… one way. Yes, really.

SJ’s dynamic pricing means if you book early you can get it for 200 kr but wait until the last minute and it can cost more than a flight to Spain ✈️

Journalist Per J Andersson calls it “too expensive,” and I agree. Trains should be the affordable, obvious choice, not a luxury item.

👉 Look at Poland: book early and you get discounts, sure. But the base price stays fair, so even if you travel last minute you don’t feel robbed.

SJ argues their system keeps trains from running empty. But honestly - what’s the point of green, fast trains if people end up taking the plane because it’s cheaper?

So tell me… would you pay 1,000 kr for 3 hours on a train? Or would you just fly?

🚨 Cheaper dentist visits for seniors!

From 2026, everyone over 67 will pay just 10% of the price for many treatments like fillings and root canals.

👉 Example: A cavity normally costs 1,200 SEK. With the new rules? Only 120 SEK.
👉 Average yearly dental cost will drop from 4,600 SEK to 1,900 SEK. That’s more than half!

The reform is part of the Tidö agreement and will cost the state up to 4.5 billion SEK per year. To pay for it, free dental care for 20–23 year olds has been removed.

🦷 What’s covered? Fillings, root canals and similar treatments.
🦷 What’s NOT covered? Check-ups (but you still get regular cost protection and dental allowances).

📅 Start date: January 1, 2026.

So… cheaper teeth at 67, but no more freebies in your early 20s.

A church on the move ⛪️✨

On August 19 at 07:55 AM, history will roll through Kiruna — literally. Sweden’s iconic wooden church (weighing 600 tons!) is being moved to a new location.

And you can watch it LIVE on SVT Play 🎥

This isn’t just construction, it’s one of the most spectacular slow-TV moments of the year.

Would you wake up early to see a whole church take a walk? 👀

POV: When Sweden teaches you that deadlines can wait, but fika can’t ☕🍰

For the uninitiated: fika = the sacred Swedish ritual of taking a break with coffee (and usually something sweet). It’s not just a coffee break, it’s a lifestyle. A social reset. A legally binding excuse to pause life and eat a kanelbulle.

No wonder Swedes are some of the happiest people in the world - they’re too busy enjoying fika to stress about work 🇸🇪✨

So, what’s your choice: deadlines or fika?

Swedish snack lovers, this one’s for you 🍟🇸🇪

Instead of coming back from the flea market with another vintage camera or random treasure, my husband walked in holding… Redhead chips by Mauri @mustigamauri

Specifically, dill & wasabi flavour.

Apparently, he’s been hunting them down for weeks just so I could film this taste test for you 😆

That’s some next-level dedication to my content (and maybe also a clever excuse to buy snacks).

So, are they worth the hype?

And if you’ve tried other Redhead flavours, which one should I hunt down next? 👇

Matcha lovers, I need your help 🍵💚

I want to start making matcha at home and I’m on the hunt for a really good one here in Sweden.

In Poland I know a few great brands, but here I don’t want to spend a fortune testing random options. I’m looking for:
✨ Beautiful, vibrant green color
✨ Smooth and delicate flavour (less bitter, more gentle)
✨ Great for everyday drinking - both for me and the rest of the family

If you’ve found your holy grail matcha in Sweden, please drop the name in the comments - bonus points if you share where to buy it without selling a kidney.

Let’s make my mornings greener 🌱☀️
