There are hotels you enjoy… 🇵🇱
And then there are hotels that completely ruin other hotels for you 😭🏨✨

That was our experience at @montownia_lofts

We stayed there for three nights while visiting Gdańsk.

The loft was huge, filled with natural light from massive industrial windows, and had one of the most comfortable mattresses we’ve slept on in years.

But what made this place special wasn’t just the room. The entire building used to be part of the historic Gdańsk Shipyard, and you can still feel that industrial history everywhere you look. It doesn’t feel just like a themed hotel. It feels authentic.

Then there’s the Food Hall @foodhallmontownia downstairs, where you can choose between multiple restaurants without even leaving the building. Dangerous for both your diet and your wallet 😅

And somehow all of this is just a short walk from Gdańsk Old Town.

If you suddenly hear loud sirens across Sweden today… don`t panic 😅🇸🇪

Today, 1 June, Sweden is testing its VMA system.

VMA stands for Viktigt Meddelande till Allmänheten ("Important Public Announcement", often called Hesa Fredrik - I hate auto-generated captions 😆) and it`s Sweden`s emergency warning system used during things like major fires, chemical accidents, severe weather, or other situations where the public needs urgent information.

The outdoor warning sirens are tested four times a year:
👉 March
👉 June
👉 September
👉 December

The test starts at 15:00.

The test signal lasts for 2 minutes:
🔊 7 seconds of sound
🤫 14 seconds of silence
🔁 repeated for 2 minutes

After that, the “all clear” signal is:
🔊 30 seconds of one continuous sound

So if you hear it today at 15:00, it’s not the end of the world.

Swedish designer Lukas Dahlén has accused IKEA of copying his Weave furniture series. A collection he developed over more than a decade with his wife Leila through their small Gotland-based studio Ringvide.

The pieces have been delivered to Louis Vuitton stores. The studio produces in small batches, in Sweden, without industrial backing.

IKEA`s new PS 2026 cabine, the legs, the thin frame, the overall expressio, looks, according to Dahlén, too close to be coincidence. He`s written about it publicly. But taking IKEA to court? For a small studio, losing could mean personal bankruptcy.

This is also not the first time IKEA has faced this kind of accusation. Last year, designer Jessica Signell said the same about a drink trolley. IKEA investigated. The case went quiet.

Göteborg turned into a giant car museum this weekend 🚗🇸🇪

We spent the day at Gothenburg Classic Car Weekend @gothenburgclassiccarweekend at Lindholmen. Even if you’re not a huge car person, it’s hard not to get impressed 🤩

Classic cars, racing cars, motorcycles, hypercars, old Volvos, tiny details people spend years restoring, and entire streets that feel like stepping into different eras.

The whole area is built around old shipyard surroundings and hangars, which somehow makes everything look even cooler.

And the event isn’t over yet 👀

Göteborg turned into a giant car museum this weekend 🚗🇸🇪

We spent the day at Gothenburg Classic Car Weekend @gothenburgclassiccarweekend at Lindholmen. Even if you’re not a huge car person, it’s hard not to get impressed 🤩

Classic cars, racing cars, motorcycles, hypercars, old Volvos, tiny details people spend years restoring, and entire streets that feel like stepping into different eras.

People in Sweden counting days until June like… finally, the pre-vacation vacation season begins 😂🇸🇪

Because if you’re new here, July in Sweden can be a cultural shock.

It’s not just “people take some time off”.

It’s:
🏖 offices running on 3 people and one automatic reply
🚪 small businesses closing like they entered witness protection
📧 “I’m back in August” emails everywhere
🌲 summer cottages suddenly becoming the real headquarters
☕ meetings being moved to “after summer”
🫠 and absolutely nobody pretending too hard that work is the priority

And June?
June is basically the warm-up.

The weather is finally nice.
National Day appears.
Midsommar takes over everyone’s brain.
People start talking about vacation plans.
And the whole country slowly begins to log off.

Technically, people are still working.

Mentally?
Already barefoot near a lake with strawberries in hand. 🍓
