I just had to post it, this was so cute. Found the video somewhere in my drafts - it was the day when we were collecting groceries from ICA Drive Thru and got extra bag for free.

What was inside?
Well, definitely not cookies 😂

We were looking inside the bag and it was dark outside so when I was unpacking everything at home, I wasn’t even reading or checking the packaging. Saw the product my husband called „cookies” in the car and it stuck with me for long 😆

Probably one of kids’ most favourites museums to visit while visiting Göteborg.

Except permanent exhibition about Swedish colonialism, Göteborg as a port city and famous Swedish cruises or expeditions, you can enjoy temporary exhibitions - Oceanista: Fashion at the sea was on during my visit.

The museum has its interactive parts, my personal favourite being ferry simulator where you can navigate the ferry departing from Gothenburg. It is not that easy as it looks like! :D

💰 SIngle entry: 70 SEK, free admission for visitors under the age of 20 or students with valid ID. Entry possible with museum card (140 SEK/year or 120 SEK/year for visitors above the age of 63).

There is a stereotype about Swedes that they’re introverts and „quiet service” seems to be something perfect for them (I say stereotype because I’ve literally never experienced it from any Swede), it wasn’t actually made because of them.

Silent/quiet services were introduced some time ago (and not only in Sweden) to meet the needs of people on the autism spectrum or people who suffer from sensory disorders to give them the comfort they need. For them talking is a challenge, leads to overstimulation and sometimes is so scary, it stops them from living their lives.

So instead of Swedes being introverts, „tyst behandling” is for me rather a symbol of Swedes being respectful and considerate towards others and it just makes me happy I live in the country where all people can feel seen.

🔴 Please, help me process this story 😆

Imagine this - your good friend needs a car and you have one to borrow. So you do and a while later you find out the car was confiscated by the bailiff. You’re calm, it’s registered on you, you have all the bills, have been paying for parking for years. So you contact Kronofogden and… they still refuse to give the car back, what is more they’re selling it on an auction some time later 😅

It’s not just a story, it’s a reality for a 25-yo girl from Trelleborg.

And what she hears in media from Kronofogden representative? That it’s a ✨tradition✨ in Swedish law that if you’re caught with some thins, that thing is yours and she should’ve some sort of contract stating it was just a loan.

What happened to oral contracts, which were supposed to be so widely recognized in Sweden? Who knows.

Is it just a culture shock that I, as an immigrant, have troubles understanding that case or is it shocking also to Swedes? 😅
